Why you’ll be paying 20 per cent more to eat out across Australia
Australians could be paying up to 20 per cent more to eat out as international borders remain closed.
Restaurant and Catering Association is warning a supply and demand issue would see prices soar next year.
CEO Wes Lambert told Deborah Knight hospitality is struggling to find workers.
“Many in the industry are paying wages $40 to $50 an hour for positions that normally pay $20-30.
“You can’t put the pressure on an industry that has an extreme workplace shortage.”
