Will shortening the COVID isolation period help hospitality?
Australia’s mandatory COVID-19 isolation period will be cut to five days from next Friday, except for workers in vulnerable settings.
Masks will also no longer be mandatory on domestic flights following a decision by National Cabinet today.
The change is effective immediately from the 9th of September.
Former MP and Pubs King Craig Laundy told Jim Wilson the decision will assist in getting staff back to work quicker.
Infectious Diseases Expert Peter Collignon told Jim the isolation period is now more reasonable.
“The reality of this decision is it has both social and economic costs.”
