Witness recalls bystander bravery at scene of fiery crash
The man who pulled a driver out of the burning wreckage of an eight-car pile up in Sydney’s south-west has described the carnage to Ray Hadley.
A 17-year-old boy, who was a passenger in an Uber, died on the scene at Woodbine on Friday night and another 13 people were injured.
26-year-old Robbie Crowley is facing charges with police alleging he was speeding and veered on to the wrong side of the road, causing the crash.
Adam helped pull Crowley out of his car, telling Ray Hadley it all happened in a matter of seconds.
“As soon as we saw one of the cars catching fire I just ran over.
“People were risking their lives, literally, to help this guy get out of the car.
“It’s amazing what happens in the community spirit out of all this danger,” Adam says.
“It’s just tragic.”
