Witnesses report ‘disgraceful’ scenes after father’s alleged drunken drive
A man has been charged with high-range drink-driving after allegedly crashing into two parked cars while six times over the limit last night.
37-year-old Hillside man, Shelvin Singh, left Glenorie RSL around 8.30 pm with two children, aged eight and three, and their nanny as passengers.
The car turned down Post Office Road and allegedly crashed into two parked cars, narrowly missing another man.
Mr Singh underwent roadside breath testing and returned a reading of 0.308 before he was taken to Castle Hill Police Station, where he returned a second reading of 0.244.
He has been charged with high-range drink-driving and could also face charges of negligent driving causing grievous bodily harm.
His children are now in the custody of their mother, believed to be his ex-wife.
Mr Singh will appear in Parramatta Local Court on June 30.
“I have spoken personally to bystanders and the driver’s behaviour [was] allegedly disgraceful,” Ray Hadley said.
