Woman dies after being mauled by her own dog
A woman has died after she was attacked by her own dog in her home on the south-western outskirts of Sydney.
Emergency services were called to the property at Wilton at 1.30pm on Thursday.
A 74-year-old man and his 72-year-old wife were found with cuts and bite marks after the dog attacked them.
The couple were treated at the scene before being rushed to Liverpool Hospital.
The woman’s condition continued to deteriorate and she later died during surgery.
The man’s condition is unknown at this stage.
The dog, believed to be an American Staffordshire Terrier, has been seized by council rangers.
