Woolworths CEO Brad Banducci has apologised to staff after it was announced nearly 6000 employees have been underpaid by up to $300 million.

The supermarket giant said they failed to pay about 5700 of its salaried workers the correct General Retail Industry Award as far back as 2010.

A review of workers’ salaries found inconsistencies with workers’ overtime levels under the award.

Woolworths CEO Brad Banducci tells Ross Greenwood they are going to fix this issue.

“Let me unequivocally apologise to the salaried store team members that have been impacted by this issue.

“The focus for us right now is remedying the situation… as soon as possible.”
