‘You have failed the Northern Territory’: Ben Fordham calls out Chief Minister
Ben Fordham has called out Indigenous Australian Minister Linda Burney and Northern Territory Chief Minister Natasha Fyles.
Ben stated the silence from both on the issues facing Alice Springs is alarming.
It’s stated in the Sydney Morning Herald that the Central Australian Aboriginal Congress saw the alcohol and violence problem coming when it told Ms Burney about the violence in a letter on June 9.
“Linda Burney did nothing about it and it’s only now in January after the Prime Minister was shamed in going to Alice Springs… that she’s listened to the Indigenous voices!”
“Pardon me if I’m a little bit sceptical… you don’t need a thing called ‘The Voice’ to listen to Indigenous Voices.”
Adding on, Ms Fyles said on Sky News that the government will continue to work with the commonwealth and police to get needs-based funding for services.
“You haven’t provided the police Natasha, and that’s your job!”
